Have you ever found it troubling to decide which website is best for you as an artist or a band?

When I started my journey in music, it was a mess. I believed I had a pretty good grip on things, but as I continued to stay teachable, that changed.

I’ve had the opportunity of creating different types of E.P.K. websites for myself through companies that offer a variety of creative presets, easy-to-use interfaces, with affordable packages to choose from…

I also thought those sites created “represented me” at the time.

Sites like Bandcamp, Reverbnation, Wix, and many more offered different perks in various music periods throughout the years.

One imparticular has stood out like a sore thumb.

Trust me; it doesn’t take a genius to navigate their online editing D.A.W.

If there are go-to websites and social media platforms, you can count on one hand, as a music artist, Bandzoogle is a powerful directory.

Mind you; this is a recommended tool I’ve found to be central to the avenue you’re anticipating to direct traffic.

Think about it this way; major social media platforms are the “frontliners.”

They give the random person passing by across the street the opportunity to look into your life from a distance.

The only thing is, almost everybody is doing it.

So the real question for us is, how do you stand out? By creating multiple dimensions between the average person doing the same thing as you.

It’s like putting one foot forward rather than losing the potential “superfan” or “person that may take interest” by having organizational skills. (If you don’t already.)

The earlier you look at your social media as a creative funnel; it can narrow down the number, so the next dedicated person to click through your links and different connections has no issue.

Everyone has a motive, whether to share something incredible or get someone to check out what exciting stuff you are doing (depending on if it’s a negative thing, then common sense is, pay no mind to it.)

If it’s something positive sure, is that not how conversations can start? And there is nothing wrong with it! We are all out here, living life differently!

The organization is attractive, just like dressing up for an interview. You’re not going to wear your favorite tore up jeans to meet the C.E.O.’s assistant; she, for sure, will NOT recommend your resume.

Suppose you don’t have a central location for your potential superfan…

You’re just like the next person.

You’re directing traffic to a dead end and for sure not maximizing your full potential.

With the use of an E.P.K., you’re not just bringing in a random audience; these are people that are already 80–100% dedicated to sharing and buying what you’re offering as a creative.

So let’s say I.G., F.B., Snap, Tik, Twitch, Soundcloud, Bandcamp, and Y.T. are like your pawns.

After someone clicks, where does your next dimension go too?

Another question is, are your platforms interconnected?

If they aren’t yet, do me a favor and map out your “internet city” on a mind mapping app or a piece of paper.

Once you have done this, draw a line to whichever platform’s connected to which, then OUT comes the dead ends. Please correct them, and continue with your hard work!

There is nothing like knowing that you have your internet platforms circulating/connected proactively.

If you go check out Bandzoogle, please do come back here and comment about your likes and dislikes.

Until next Tuesday,

“Asta la vista, baby!”
